Tough to put this one down until well into the wee hours. An elven thief with an eye for a good looking hunk; that's Shadow. She's got a sense of humor, a ready blade, and a sense of decency. Shadow is possibly the coolest "elf-book" around. "Never trifle with an elf, a thief, or a woman... Shadow is all three!" How incredibly accurate. Here's a good read about a cocky, mischievous thief who steals what she wants, when she wants, be it a purse, or a kiss from a cute fellow... Nobody would mind a life like that! However, there's a slight problem within the Guild of Thieves, mainly involving the leader, who happens to be a corrupt, gluttonous, incompetent and generally "male" guy. Between running for her life and running for a good look at the random cute fellow she was following through the crowd, this book is darn amusing! He froze, his head tilting to listen as leaves rustled to the south.

(What?) Chyrie asked quickly.

(Perhaps only an animal,) he returned, reaching for his sword before he realized that in the safety of the altars they had left them beside their pallets.
