There's not a person alive who doesn't wish for the opportunity to go back into their past and change the way things ended up. In Tapestry the dream comes true. Katherine Hurston, obsessed with changing the past so her married lover will be free, agrees to participate in a revolutionary time travel project. It uses a combination of biofeedback into the human brain, the use of psychotropic drugs and psychic ability to open the doorway to the past, an untried experimental program that could prove fatal. None of this stops her from trying.

Max Martin, the scientist in charge and a close friend to Kat's best friends, Chuck and Callie Barnes, has his own reasons for wanting the project to succeed, as do Chuck and Callie. Max's brother had just found the lost scrolls of Egypt, containing the secrets to eliminating major diseases. He was murdered for that find and his murder was never solved. Max wants to find out who killed his brother. Chuck and Callie want Max and Kat to come together and Callie's psychic ability tells her that her future lies in the project's success.

Unknown to all, the power behind the funding of the program has his own agenda too; one that could kill them all.
